Rogers and Merrell to Join Board of Directors
Morrisville, NC - May 9, 2006
LED Lighting Fixtures, Inc., (LLF) today announced three key additions to its executive team.
Mike Rogers has been appointed president of LLF. For the past eight years Rogers was vice president of sales for Cree, Inc., a leading manufacturer of light emitting diodes (LEDs). During his 25-year career he has managed a broad range of sales, marketing, customer service, and distribution functions in public and private companies. His extensive international experience will be vital to driving LLF’s growth in foreign markets.
Cynthia Merrell joins LLF as chief financial officer. Most recently, she served as chief financial officer and treasurer for Cree, Inc. Ms. Merrell brings nearly 25 years of experience to LLF and has solid experience in raising and managing capital, communicating with investors and dealing with all aspects of finance and accounting. She is a Certified Public Accountant.
Mike Fallon recently joined the company in the position of vice president, sales and marketing. Mr. Fallon is the former VP, sales for CooperTools, a $500 million division of Cooper Industries. He held numerous management positions during his nearly 30 years with Cooper. He brings to LLF a complete understanding of the industry, broad based experience in navigating and negotiating across multiple market channels, and numerous key customer relationships.
“Mike Rogers is a proven leader,” said Neal Hunter, LLF’s chairman and CEO. “He’s been involved in complex negotiations on a global basis and he understands the light emitting diode (LED) industry that is the backbone of our product line.” He added, “Cindy Merrell has an impeccable track record as a financial leader and is well respected in the investment community. Cindy will be a key member of our business planning team. Mike Fallon’s tenure at Cooper Industries will prove invaluable in our efforts to launch a new product line in an existing distribution structure. He has experienced all aspects of the sales and marketing process,” Hunter said.
The company also announced its Board of Directors, consisting of Gerry Negley, chief technology officer; Tony van de Ven, managing director, Hong Kong; Cynthia Merrell, CFO; Mike Rogers, president; and Neal Hunter, chairman and CEO.
“These executive appointments bring together a group that is arguably one of the most experienced technology management teams on the East Coast.” Hunter added, “We will continue to add expertise from the lighting industry as we finish building our team.”
